Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the development, implementation and review of department policies and procedures.
2. Responsible for the review and completion of all maintenance requisitions in a timely manner.
3. Responsible for assessing the compatibility and safety of all new medical equipment.
4. Responsible for the establishment and implementation of a Preventive Maintenance schedule.
5. Analyzes cost/work schedules, set priorities and expedites operation and repairs.
6. Responsible for the preparation/approval of personnel valuations/actions within the Biomedical Engineering Department.
7. Responsible for the preparation of various reports when required.
8. Participates on safety, procurement and other committees as required.
9. Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities.

Specialized Knowledge

1. Current knowledge of related equipment operation.
2. Working knowledge of installation and maintenance of equipment.
3. Ability to read and understand schematic/circuit diagrams and specifications.
4. Knowledge of electronic medical control system.
5. Foreign travel/work experience desirable.
