4.0 Duties & Responsibilities:
4.1 Conduct daily infection surveillance activities to collect and record data on
the presence of infection among patients and personnel.
4.2 Investigate, analyzes and reports Nosocomial Infections in conjunction
with the Microbiologist and prepare Nosocomial Infection monthly report
for the hospital Infection Control Committee.
4.3 Review and updates policies / procedures with the Infection Control
Committee members.
4.4 Advise personnel about hospital Isolation Policies and Procedures and
ensure that measures are appropriate to improve the care of patients in
isolation.
4.5 Maintain close liaison with Employee Health Clinic in the hospital to
ascertain the presence of infection in hospital personnel.
4.6 Act as a resource person on Infection Control and support for nurses in
clinical areas.
4.7 Serve as an adviser to department heads on departmental policies and
procedures related to Infection in hospital personnel.
4.8 Provide information for new employees and periodic updates for nursing
personnel and personnel from other departments as to the importance
of infection control.

4.9 Conduct inspection of high risk patient crue areas and environment and
food service areas, in conjunction with the Preventive Medicine
Physician.
4.10 Provide education on Infection Control practice to all staff, patients and as
appropriate to family and other care givers.
4,ll Prepare monthly statistics and other report on Infection Control in the
hospital.
4.12 Participate in or conducts special projects related to Infection Control.
4.13 Member of Infection Control Committee.
4.14 Perform other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of knowledge,
skills and abilities.

6.1 Comprehensive knowledge of current infection control/Program
(wHo,cDC)
6.2 Working knowledge of nursing education,Quality improvement and
infection control students and of current management theories and
practices.
