DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Surveillance of ongoing infections to verify adequate data collection, control procedures and current staff interventions.
- Continuously maintains proper safety and took precautionary measures to avoid spread of disease and infection.
- Identify risks proactively, preparing teams for likely infections based on seasonal changes or current epidemiological trends.
- Coordinates successfully and with full compliance to prevent infections according to Hospital Policies and Procedures, MSD by laws, Saudi Central Board for Health Specialties, and Joint Commission standards.
- Participates in evidence-based practice project implementation, nursing competency development and nursing simulation activities.
- Uses first-hand knowledge and clinical expertise to advocate for patients under care and enacted prescribed treatment strategies.
- Promotes patient and family comfort during challenging recoveries to enhance healing and eliminate non-compliance problems.
- Collaborates with leadership to devise initiatives for improving nursing satisfaction, retention and morale.
- Quickly responds to situations impacting safety and security to unit, actualizing crisis prevention interventions to control and de-escalate situations.
- Sustains quality standards by performing routine medication audits and upholding internal and industry best practices.
- Follows all personal and health data procedures to effectively comply with HIPAA laws and prevent information breaches.
- Participates in CQI&PS System Control Activities, Staff Development, Environmental Safety Awareness and Fire and Safety Practices, Disaster, CPR and Infection Control.
- Performs other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
