الوصف الوظيفي
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responds to instructions from ambulance dispatcher, EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Physician and Paramedic.
- Establishes direct communication with dispatcher for continuous update of patients/situation.
- Removes or assists in removal of victims from scene of accident or catastrophe.
- Determines nature and extent of illness / injury, sizes up incident; executes first aid treatment; provides ambulance transport to patients/ casualties; monitor starts of patient’s/casualties and works within the guidelines of emergency medical practice.
- Assists the EMS Physician/Paramedic in all Life Support procedures
- Inspects all vehicles and ambulance equipment; replaces consumable stocks; reports faulty vehicles, drugs and/or equipment; documents procedures undertaken; and accomplishes incident reports for unusual, untoward and special issues.
- Cleans workplace and ambulance units during endorsement and after each mission.
- Participates in all training, drills and seminars for the enhancement of rescue skills.
- Respects cultural orientation of each patient (e.g. female EMT for all female patients).
- Assists Trauma Team in ER during disaster level-1 activation and must follow orders from the ER Controller on duty at the time of incident.
- Must follow the chain of command in health care system; the ethics of endorsement; the rule of teamwork.
- Must be adept in communication exchange if assigned as dispatcher in radio room.
