Duties and Responsibilities:

• Offer outpatient and in-patient clinical nutrition services. .

• Offer medical nutrition therapy and nutrition services along with patient’s medical and clinical goals.

• Offer elaborates nutritional status assessment by analyzing and synthesizing information.

• Review, interpret and monitor nutritional needs of outpatients and in-patients through standard care and practice.

• Monitor medical file and determine patient needs to execute suitable nutritional care plan.

• Determine and offer age specific nutrition counseling to satisfy clinical and cultural needs of patients and their family members.

• Develop, review and update education materials to satisfy patient and professional needs.

• Specify diet supplements order and enteral nutrition as per hospital policy.

• Coordinate with nursing staff and physicians specific to total patient care and attend ward rounds including “ground rounds.”

• Records subjective and objective information, assessment, and treatment plan, in the clinical notes including a discharge summary.

• Compute for the caloric requirements of patient on NGT feeding and special milk formula in infant and children.

• Monitor catering nutritionist’s daily work and offer input to evaluate performance.

• Support and comply with performance improvement plans, licensing and accrediting agencies.
