AUDIOLOGIST SPECIALIST / أخصائي سمعيات

Performs routine Audiologist examinations according to applicable professional standards, laws, and regulations.

Assesses the Audiology requirements of individual patients and in conjunction with the Head of Depratment/Section when necessary.

Ensures that equipment used to conduct Audiology studies is regularly inspected, maintained, and calibrated, and appropriate records are maintained for these activities.

Ensures that quality control procedures are in place, followed, validated, and documented.

Implements planned Audiology treatments using skilled techniques, referring to Head of Department/Section when necessary.

Provides written reports and notes for individual patients on clinical findings. Maintains progress reports on patients. Provides information for input into program and patient billing system whenever applicable.

Performs specialist audiology procedures under the supervision of more senior trained staff. Undertakes training in these procedures as required by the Department.

Ensures patients and staff are protected from unnecessary hazards.

Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of current developments and new techniques in Audiology/ENT.

Participates in orientation and in-service education programs.

Assists in the training, teaching, supervision and assessment of trainee technicians and others as required.

Reports faulty or malfunctioning equipment and accessories to the Head of Department/Section.

Participate in Community activities as related to health education and patient education practice.

Participates in CQIPS System Improvement activities, System Control activities, Staff Development activities, Environmental Awareness, Fire and Safety Practices, Disaster, CPR, and Infection Control.

Performs other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities as designated/assigned.

Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to motivate and develop staff work effectively together to achieve results, with appropriate support and guidance.

Ability to articulate description of hearing aid conditions.

Ability to  articulate the role of Audiology Technician to the patients.
