- Clinical
Deliver and maintain safe nursing care based on the City Wide Policies and Procedures.
Ensure safe Administration and management of medications after passing the
competency
Utilize evidenced-based approach in the application of nursing process in rendering
quality patient care.
Use critical thinking ability in identifying patient?s priority needs and demonstrates
sound clinical decision making in rendering holistic nursing care.
Liaise with the healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate care is provided to all
patients.
Ensure family and patient?s rights are protected and respected.
*Advocate on behalf of their patients to ensure quality healthcare services are provided.
*Provide health education to patients, relatives and caregivers.
*Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patient-related information. 

*Ensure that appropriate Informed Consent is obtained for patients undergoing relevant
medical and surgical treatment and interventions.

Demonstrate proficiency in the management, operation and utilization of stocks and equipment.
Participate in managing a clean, safe and tidy unit.

-  Leadership and Management
Coordinate with colleagues and observes acceptable ethical, professional conduct in the
clinical area.
Contribute to improve professional development of the nursing team by:
*Recognizing and valuing contributions from each individual within the unit.
*Working with team members and provides support to define clear individual roles and
responsibilities.
*Assisting in the implementation of the mission, values statement and standards of the
Nursing Department.
Ensure all communication is clear, accurate and presented appropriately to the target
group or individual through proper Chain-of-Command.
Handle conflicts and misunderstanding in a positive manner and seeks appropriate resolution.
Act as a professional role model, and preceptor for new staff and students/interns.
Assume accountability for quality care delivered to patients.
Take charge of the unit in the absence of Staff Nurse 1 or Team Leader.

- Professional Development

Participate on in-service, formal and non-formal education, training activities and
delivery of teaching to other members of clinical staff.
Take responsibility for own professional development.
Perform unit specific nursing activities and procedures competently.
Ensure required professional licenses are up-to-date.

- Quality Improvement

Uphold quality initiative that improve ?customer care? and enhance the interface
between staff and patients.
Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in the implementation and evaluation of action plan for performance
improvement.
Participate with nursing leaders and managers to develop unit policies, procedures and
protocols.
Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee?s
knowledge, skills and abilities.
Apply the measures and guidelines of Patient experience improvement projects.

- Additional Unit Specific Additional Duties and Responsibilities.

- Registration from Saudi Council for Health Specialties as Specialist.

- Certified BCLS, Sedation Course Certified, ACLS, PALS, NRP
and Chemotherapy Course for specialized areas.

-  Meet Generic and Unit Specific Competencies in the Designated - area of specialty.

-  Computer literate
