• Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department.
• Responsible for the provision and maintenance of an efficient consultative, diagnostic and advisory service in Histopathology.
• Provides Advice to the Director of Medical Laboratory concerning trends and new developments in the field of Histopathology.
• Participates in the management of physical and manpower resources of Histopathology to maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department.
• Will be required to participate in Clinico-pathological meetings.
• Teaches staff assigned for training purposes, and participates with the Director of Medical Laboratory.
• Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Quality Management and Patient Safety Program, Quality Assessment Improvement Program) as applicable.
• Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education.
• Serves on hospital committees as requested.
• Deputizes for his superior as required and shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleagues.
• Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital.
• Participate in the CAP Proficiency Testing Program of Histopathology and Cytopathology

• Computer literate: expert in intermediate level.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Ability to speak, write and read Arabic and English.
