المهام و الواجبات
1 Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department/division.
2 Initiates and innovates ideas in assisting the hospital and MSD (through the director of department/head of division) to discharge its public health responsibilities, in conducting epidemiological research and community based studies whenever necessary, advises on any preventive measures
3 Draws up policies and procedures of staff health services, in collaboration with the staff health physicians.
4 Advises the hospital on future planning/development of Preventive Medicine activities, strategies and trends.
5 Participates closely in the development and enhancement of a wide variety of preventive programmes such as: epidemiological advice, health promotion and child health services, good hygienic principles.
6 Collates information on the incidence of infections, maintains contact with veterinary organizations and set up inquiries into outbreaks of infectious diseases and search for the source.
7 Liaises with the laboratories for bacteriological surveillance of food, water and milk etc
8 Participates in postgraduate training activities of the Department of preventive medicine.
9 Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Total Quality Management Programme, Quality Assessment Improvement Programme), as applicable
10 Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education
11 Develops a comprehensive school health service such as check-up guidelines, annual medical check-ups and acts as an advisor to school health physicians concerning policies of disease prevention
12 Conducts studies on environmental and occupational risk factors and advises on prevention, in collaboration with Staff Health
13 Conducts pre-employment medical check-ups and advises on suitability/fitness of candidates; ensures that military personnel vaccinations are up to date.
14 Conducts periodic check-ups on military personnel; designs appropriate forms for this check-ups.
15 Develops a close liaison with Microbiology to follow up infectious diseases
16 To participate in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
17 Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.
المهارات
1 Graduate from a recognized medical school.
2 Saudi Board in Preventive Medicine or equivalent
3 Wide knowledge and experience in epidemiology research / statistical analysis
4Self-motivated and with awareness of current trends in the field
5 Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
6 Ability to speak, write and read Arabic and English.
