• Duties and Responsibilities:

4.1 Defines patient hearing impairment and balance disorder by conferring with referring physician; selecting and administering electrophysiological and other relevant tests: operating diagnostic equipment; determining type and degree of hearing impairment and effects on comprehension and speech; interpreting audiometric diagnostic data; preparing written diagnostic reports.

4.2 Provides treatments by cleaning car canal: fitting hearing aids and other assistive devices: conducting auditory training and instruction in speech and lip reading: fitting and tuning cochlear plants; counseling patients and families; conducting programs in aural rehabilitation: guiding technical staff.

4.3 Maintains patient records by recording and updating evaluations, changes, progress, and treatments.

4.4 Improves quality results by studying, evaluating. and re-designing processes; implementing changes: participating in research programs; evaluating new equipment, devices, and techniques.

4.5 Provides auditory evaluations and education by measuring and studying noise conditions: conducting hearing protection and hearing loss screening programs

4.6 Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs: placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt

4.7 Updates job knowledge by tracking trends in new techniques and approaches; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications: maintaining personal networks participating in professional organizations.

4.8 Maintains records of each patient procedure including computer data input. and present monthly statistics to the department manager

4.9 Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/ her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Qualifications or Relevant Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent /Graduate from a Recognized Medical School

At least three (3) years of experience as audiologist in a recognized healthcare institution.

Knowledge and skills related to assessment and identification, management and treatment, and prevention and education.

Have skills in data analysis, using technology, interacting with patients, and communicating and collaborating with other professionals

Preferred:

The applicant must be able to work as a part of a team, maintaining professional standards and attitudes at all times

The applicant must be able to work unaccompanied and show initiative to deal with problems during work

Good command of English, writing and speaking
