To provide audiological, vestibular and hearing aid services.

The employee will:

3.1          Use skilled and professional techniques to identify hearing and balance disorders.

3.2          Assess the presence or absence of auditory dysfunction in paediatric group especially under the age of five (5) years.

3.3          Use skilled techniques to differentiate conductive from a sensorineural hearing loss.

3.4 Identify Cochlear from Tetrocochlear pathology.

3.5          Measure the ability of the auditory system to process and interpret speech through Speech Audiometry.

3.6          Use skilled techniques for the clinical measurement for acoustic impedance.

3.7          Use basic techniques to identify Cochlear from Retrocochlear pathology via Otoacoustic emissions.

3.8          Perform basic measurement of Hearing aid performance fitting and assessment procedures (Section of Aids, fitting, etc.)

3.9          Use basic techniques for Tinnitus evaluation.

3.10        Provide supervision and training to Audiology technicians and trainees.

3.11        Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Fluency in English language, knowledge of trends and development in the field of Audiology.

• Knowledge of Hearing and Balance Disorders: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Assessment and Management.

• Knowledge and experience with equipment related to Audiology Division.

• Computers/Research/Statistics knowledge.

• Effective communication skills.

• Ability to relate well to other health professionals and patient’s relatives.

• Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
