Duties and Responsibilities:
6.1 Abides by the Medical Staff By-Laws, Code of Medical Ethics. Rules
and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the
department.
6.2 Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care tbr the patients
for whom he/she is responsible.

6.3 Uses clinical skills and methods appropriate to a primary care serting
to analyze the patient's complaints and establish a plan of action in
his/her best interest.

6.4 Initiates investigations which will confirm, establish
or rule out
diagnosis. or be of benefit to the patient.

6.5 Refers patients to Consultant Family Medicine or appropriate
specialist
for opinion or treatment as deemed necessary.

6.6 establish a therapeutic relationship with patients/families in an effort to
promote compliance and shared participation in a caring environment.

6.7 Follows up those patients with on-going or chronic illness or when a
therapeutic response requires evaluation.

6.8 Carries out other clinical duties as assigned by the Consultant/Senior
Registrar in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.

6.9 Participates in the teaching of staff assigned for training purposes.

6.10 Participates in the Improvement of quality of patient care (Quality
improvement and Patient Safety Programme), as applicable.

6.11 To acquire and maintain a valid certification in Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS).

6.12 Fulfils the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialities
with regard to continuing medical education.

3.1 Ability to assume greater responsibility in matters of patient care.
3.2 Commitment to learning and training in pursuance of a career in his
chosen speciality.
3.3 Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
3.4 Ability to deal calmly, with tact and diplomacy to patient and staff
alike.
