Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supervise and monitor the preparation of vacant accommodation to ensure high
standard and timely availability of accommodation units to newly arriving and
transferring staff.
2. Monitor the activities of maintenance, domestic and store staff and to liaise with the
appropriate supervisor where slippage occurs.
3. Maintain an inventory of furniture and household items issued to accommodate units.
To investigate incidences of shortage, damage and misuse of Hospital property.
4. Represent the department in the inspection of the accommodation of terminating staff,
and of vacant accommodation prior to letting it occupied, to ensure the maintenance of
standards and protection of Hospital property.
5. Maintain an accurate register of occupied and vacant accommodations, the register of
transfer applicants and to investigate any discrepancies in records held.
6. Provide advice and investigate complaints arising from staff occupying Hospital
accommodation and take appropriate remedial action.
7. Monitor the common, shared, recreational and garden areas around accommodation, to ensure satisfactory environmental standards are maintained.
8. Provide, on a rota basis, the department?s out of hours emergency service and new arrival meeting service.
9. Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee?s knowledge, skills and abilities.
