1. Rotate to various sections of the division as required.
2. Receive tissue and other clinical samples, ensure that they are accurately identified and
specifically verify that the information on the specimen container label matches that of
the requisition form.
3. Prepare specimens following standard methods, ensuring high quality specimens for the
examination; perform other procedures as may be required to complete the examination.
4. Keep accurate bench log of all procedures performed.
5. Participate in the laboratory on-call/shift duties on weekends and public holidays.
6. Assist the SMLSO/MLSO in carrying out all procedures relating to specimen collection,
sample, preparation, analysis, verification and recording of results as required.
7. Comply with operating procedures, quality control and safety standards in performing
tasks.
8. Utilize and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies in a manner which will ensure
both cost effectiveness and safety.
9. Inform SMLSO as soon as possible of any problem relating to quality control. 

10. Participate in the Major Disaster Plan of the PSMMC as indicated.
11. Abide by all related PSMMC-wide policies and procedures, Hospital By-laws and those
specific to the department.
12. Adhere at all times to the confidentiality code of conduct protecting patients' rights to
privacy.
13. Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee's
knowledge, skills and abilities

1. Knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment
2. Knowledge of laboratory tests and analysis
3. Familiarity with computers
4. Good standard of oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English
