1.1 Provides basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, and use automatic defibrillator and assisting patients in taking their prescribed medications.
1.2 Administers prescribed first-aid treatment at the site of an emergency, or in a specially equipped vehicle. This include treatments such as applying splints, administering oxygen, treating minor wounds or abrasions or administering artificial resuscitation.
1.3 Maintains standards of care within the hospital policies and procedures.
1.4 Assists emergency medical service personnel in providing emergency and non emergency medical and health care.
1.5 Actively participates in the hospital's disaster plan, as a member of the immediate response team.
1.6 Removes or assists in removal of victims from the incident scene or catastrophe.
1.7 Transports patient to hospitals or other emergency care facilities.
1.8 Assists receiving facility to obtain and record information related to victim's vital statistics and circumstances of the emergency.
3.10 Prepares reports of incidents for record keeping purposes.
3.11 Performs other related emergency medical support duties.
3.12 Identifies and acts on changes in patient condition, making safe, timely decisions appropriate to the situation.
3.13 Maintains privacy and confidentiality of all patient related information in relation to service provision and health care treatments and services.
3.14 Acts as a professional role model, mentor and preceptor for staffs and students.
3.15 Deals with complaints promptly and sensitively with appropriate documentation and follow-up reports to the charge nurse.
3.16 Assumes accountability for quality care delivered to patients.
3.17 Takes responsibility for own professional development
3.18 Maintains and protects the safety, confidentiality and dignity of patients and their families.
3.19 Demonstrates safe and correct use of specific unit based equipment.
3.20 Identifies any hazards or potential hazards, faulty equipment. Etc., and report such problems to the ambulance supervisor.
3.21 Maintains competencies up to date.
3.22 Performs other applicable tasks and duties as assigned within the realm of the employee's knowledge, skills and abilities in accordance with the policies and procedures.
3.23 Perform the whole range of ambulance duties as laid down in the training programme including lifting and carrying of patients and their belongings , patient care and escort duties as determined by circumstances.
3.24 Carry out equipment checks and inventory checks on all vehicles at the commencement of each shift.
3.25 Wash, clean vehicles and equipments to standards laid down by ambulance controller.
3.26 Drive ambulance as necessary.
3.27 Act as team leader with transporting patients and communicate with the senior ambulance personnel onduty at the completion of trip.
3.28 Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
