Duties and Responsibilities
To wash and decontaminates used instruments and equipment by following prescribed techniques.
Maintains and operates washer/sterilizers, sonic washers, steam and gas autoclaves and other related equipment, adhering to instructions.
Processes and maintains sterile instruments and surgical sets by adhering to adequacy of sets and correct handling techniques.
Collects and distributes items to and from units in a timely manner, correctly documents any shortages.
Inspects all instruments and devices to determine that they are in good working condition.
