• Carry out routine radiological examinations according to agreed policies and procedures and specialist radiological procedures under the supervision of senior trained staff undertakes training in the above procedures as required by the department.
• Ensure that the X-ray rooms, equipment and department are kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure that patients and staff are protected from unnecessary hazards due to radiation. To be responsible at all times for patient and visitor welfare and comfort.
• Participate in the departmental rota to include working unaided outside normal working hours.
• Keep abreast of current developments and new techniques and changes within the radiographic profession. Assist in effective Quality Control and play an active role in the Total Quality Management Programme.
• Respond to and report any equipment faults to a Senior or Superintendent Radiographer with accurate details of malfunction.
• Attend briefings and departmental staff meetings when required.
• Ensure that fire prevention regulations are observed at all times and be familiar with the Departmental Major Incident Policy.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee's knowledge, skills and abilities.
