Senior Registrar Hematologist-Adult

Provides and maintains an efficient consultative, diagnostic and advisory service in hematology.

Responsible for the highest standard of medical care for whom he/she will be responsible and determine the type of laboratory services to be provided by the department.

Participates in the management of the physical and manpower resources of the division to maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Participates in the annual appraisal review of each Staff Member in the division and in the assessment of current staffing levels in his/her division and recommends appropriate levels to the Chief of Pathology.

Participates in actively promoting, and formulating teaching and training programs for Medical, Technical, Nursing and other Hospital Staff.

Participates in the planning of further developments in the department and advises on equipment needs, maintenance and replacement.

Undertakes a comprehensive on-going program of quality assurance which will ensure that standards are met and maintained. Promotes and maintains the high standards of the discipline by continuing medical education and the development of Pathology in the program.

Participates in research and presentation of papers at national and international conferences.

Provides consultative and diagnostic services for other MODA facilities in consultation with the Chief of Pathology and Hospital Director.

Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities
