Duties and Responsibilities
Job Summary
Responsible for the developing and monitoring of Safety Programs in PSCC.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center.
Monitors and documents the Safety Program for PSCC in coordination with the safety department.
Monitors high risk sites and improves safety in coordination with the safety department.
Monitors the list of hazardous medical material sites, storage and disposal.
Monitors medical waste disposal in a scientific process, as per MSD regulations.
Monitors and documents periodical staff training regarding the Safety Program in PSCC.
Monitors safety reports of building periodically in coordination within the Maintenance and Operation Department.
Monitors Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) in all relevant departments of all medical and non-medical equipment and services.
Participates in planning or improvement of buildings according to the Safety Program, in coordination with Engineering and Maintenance Departments.
Monitors and documents the Major Disaster Plan and its drills (at least once a year).
Distributes the Major Disaster Plan to all relevant departments.
Monitors Fire and Safety drills (twice/year).
Monitors the compliance of the Safety Program.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Performs any other duties as assigned by the CQI & PS Director in relation to departmental duties.
Education/Licensure
Essential: Postgraduate Degree; such as MSD JCI Diploma, Certification in Health Care Quality (CPHQ), Master in other Clinical or Managerial Hospital Work or equivalent certification.
Professional Experience
Essential: Three (3) years experience in a medium to large hospital healthcare facility with at least Two (2) years in Safety Control Programs.
Desirable: Experience working with Joint Commission Standards and with OSHA Regulations.
