Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual.

Undertakes the role of the primary care provider to a defined patient group within the Nuclear Medicine Unit.

Protects patient confidentiality in accordance with the hospital policy.

Performs a variety of supportive and technical nursing skills utilizes range of equipment, supplies, medication and pharmaceuticals in carrying out specific medical orders, administration of medications, performance of specific treatment, monitoring techniques and other diagnostic, therapeutic and supportive measures.

Works collaboratively with the Nuclear Medicine Consultant, Physicist, Technicians and Nurses from other department in order to provide highest quality patient care during Nuclear Medicine Scan

Participates in the care, custody administration and documentation of Medication and Radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the hospital policy. Administer Radiopharmaceuticals to patient undergoing Nuclear Medicine procedures under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Consultant /Specialist.

Give health teachings to patients and family about what to expect during and after the procedure.

Ensures safety of the patients and relatives according to the Department policy.

Demonstrate knowledge, abide and participate in the implementation of Radiation Safety Program

Disposes Radio-active materials/waste according to Radiation Safety Guidelines.

Uses Supplies in a cost effective and responsible manner and participates in the procedure for ordering supplies within the agreed budget as delegated.

Uses medical equipment in a safe and effective manner and responsible for reporting faults and malfunction to BME.

Participates in the orientation, on-going training and development program of the department/unit. Ensures that appropriate orientation, teaching, supervision and support will be given to students and new staff.

Fulfills the requirements of SCFHS and Nursing Administration with regards to the Continuing Medical Education (CME) and yearly Nursing Updates.

Participates in the emergency cases like CODE Blue, CODE Red happening in the department.

Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department.

Performs other duties and task as required within the realm of their knowledge and abilities.

Skills

 

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Nursing Diploma of three years program.

 

 

  • Valid license to practice from the country of origin

 

 

  • Must have Saudi Council Registration and 3 primary source verification (Dataflow) education, License from country of origin and Employment.

 

 

  • Post-basic certificate in area of responsibility is preferred.

 

 

  • BLS Certified.

 

 

  • Posses other certification pertinent to area of expertise, i.e. NRP, PALS, ACLS, ATLS, Sedation where applicable.

 

 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in general nursing.

 

 

  • Two to three years experience in current area.

 

 

  • Good interpersonal skills.
