Duties and Responsibilities
5.1 Contributes to the teaching and training of the department.
5.2 Carries out full range of clinical duties as assigned by the Consultant in Charge of the ICU and the consultant Intensivist in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
5.3 Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department.
5.4 To acquire and maintain valid certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
5.5 Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for patients for whom he/she is responsible.
5.6 Responsible for daily progress note documentation.
5.7 Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Continuous Quality Improvement and Patients Safety) as applicable.
5.8 Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education.
5.9 Participates in approved research projects.
5.10 Shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleagues.
5.11 Respond to consultations, code blue and major disaster plan of the hospital as indicated.
5.12 To exercise the highest possible standards for: Patients’ care, admission, transfer and etc.
5.13 Share on call MSICU schedule as needed.
5.14 Participates in other committees.

Education
Graduate from a recognized medical school. Saudi Board or equivalent higher qualification in Critical Care
