Registrar General Radiologist

Duties and Responsibilities

• To exercise the highest possible standard of diagnostic service in General Radiology according to his clinical privileges and available resources.
• To participate in the training and teaching program of the hospital.
• Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department.
• Carries out full range of clinical duties as assigned by the Director of Radiodiagnostics, Consultant and Senior Registrar in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
• To provide and maintain, under the supervision of the Consultant, the highest attainable standard of diagnostic examinations.
• To strictly follow the radiation protection procedures.
• To assist the Consultant in performing diagnostic radiological examinations or therapeutic procedures as required.
• Rotates through each imaging sub-specialty as requested by the Director of Radiodiagnostics.
• Will be required to attend clinical/radiological meetings and all other department meetings.
• Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department.
• Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education.
• Participate in approved research projects.
• Shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleagues.
• Instructs and guides when necessary junior medical staff in the overall care of patients, supervises their performance/work and contributes to the training and teaching activities in the department.
• Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
• Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
• Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.

Radiology
