Duties and Responsibilities
Out-Patient Area
Performs and Assist in dispensing functions in the Out-Patient Pharmacy area.
Performs extemporaneous compounding of ointments, creams, solutions, etc.
Weekly monitor shelves and assist in requesting and topping up needed medications in all pharmacy areas.
Inspect medications on shelves, identify short-dated batches and removed expired once.
Received written prescription or refill and verify that patient information is complete and accurate.
Computer generated prescriptions are promptly read and patient information is verified that the information is complete and accurate to generate accurate prescription labels and profiles.
Counts and repacked tablets for individual prescription.
In-Patient Area
Perform and Assist dispensing in the unit dose drug distribution program.
Performs extemporaneous compounding of ointment, creams, solutions, etc.
Unit dose cart are accurately filled from current patient profile.
Technicians promptly and accurately deliver medications to hospital in-patient units.
Original orders are accurately filed and appropriate records and inventories are maintained as required.
Technicians assist in compounding and dispensing medicinal of a special nature that are not readily available from the manufacturers.
Maintained proper storage and security condition for drug.
Effectively communicates with Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacist, other Technicians. Hospital personnel and patients.
Maintain a neat, clean, orderly and well-stocked work area in the unit dose area.
