Medical Physicist Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure the effectiveness and timely calibration of radiological equipment.
2. Radiological equipment is calibrate according to regulatory requirements and standards established by the department and manufactures recommendation.
3. Radiological equipment is calibrated according to timelines established by and the regulatory requirement.
4. Inspect and maintain equipment.
5. Equipment malfunction are identified and remedial action is taken to repair in a timely manner.
6. Biomedical engineering is notified and coordinated as necessary.
7. Preventive maintenance is performed on the advice by the biomedical department.
8. Ensure the integrity of all protective devices such as lead apron, gloves, gonadal shield and thyroid shields collar provides level of protection.
9. Optimizes the use of radiological technology and radiation safety.
10. Radiation production equipment has acceptance testing providing by MOH team.
11. Data is collected to assist technologist to make dose and room design recommendation.
12. Supervise of all technologists in his/her fields.
13. Supervision and follow-up medical equipment maintenance.
14. Supervision and continuous follow-up worker dosimeter.
15. Supervision for implement radiation safety basics and principle.
16. Continuous education for all technologists.
17. To participate in training program for the professional development of all the staff.
18. Participate continuous education for all technologists.
19. To assists in establishing radiation protection procedure for patient and staff.
20. Responsible for quality improvement related to his/her job.
21. Responsible for safety issues related to his/her job.
22. Uphold hospital policies and procedure, principles and responsibilities and applicable laws.
23. Must be familiar with principles of radiation protection, the hazards radiation protection and exposure to both patients and radiological personnel.

Skills:

1. Ability to deal during radiation emergency case.
2. Ability to promote his/her speciality.
3. Excellent communication skill (able to speak, understand and write English).
4. Must be familiar with PACS and HIS operations.

Medical/Health Physics
