IV PHARMACIST

• To be trained in Compounding Sterile Preparation (CSP), (IV Admixture, PN, etc.) and able to calculate & intervene their prescription and assist their compounding; and it is mandatory to renew employment contract.
• All interventions, medication errors, ADRs must be reported and the potentials to be discussed during the staff meetings.
• Assists in stock control within the pharmacies and coordinate with warehouse, clinics, nurse stations and physicians to dispense near expiry medications whenever appropriate.
• Maintains sterile compounding and clinical competency in compliance to policy and sufficient to meet pharmacy standards for patient safety and effective therapy; compounds, dispensed and performs clinical activities to these standards.
• Delegates aspects of the practice of pharmacy to a pharmacy technician within the parameters of their job description.
• To supervise technicians in aseptic compounding including parenteral nutrition.
• Assists in stock control within the pharmacies and coordinate with warehouse, clinics, nurse stations and physicians to dispense near expiry medications whenever appropriate.
• Refer pending and unresolved difficulties to senior level (e.g. senior Pharmacist, area supervisor or Clinical Pharmacist)
• Participates in the pharmacy on – call rotation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures

IV Admixture or Compounding Sterile Preparation Course (30 hours) accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
