INVASIVE CARDIOLOGY CONSULTANT - AL HADA MILITARY HOSPITAL

5.1    Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and  Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the  department/division.

5.2     Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for patients for     whom he/she is responsible.

5.3     Provides comprehensive information to the patients regarding their illness and to participate in all related educational activities.

5.4    Carries out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as           assigned by the Director of department/Head division in accordance with   individually approved clinical privileges.

5.5     Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department/division.

5.6     Teaches staff assigned for training purposes, and participates with the         director of department/head of division and Director of Postgraduate and   Academic Affairs in planning a programme of career development for   trainees.

5.7     Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Continuous      Quality and Patients Safety Programme, Quality Assessment Improvement Programme) as applicable.

5.8     Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with   regard to continuing medical education.

5.9     Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.

5.10   Deputies for his superior as required and shares workload in his specialty   during the absence of his colleagues.

5.11   Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice     with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.

5.12   Participate in the forward planning, and further development of the         department/division.

5.13   Serves on hospital committees as requested.

5.14   Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.

5.15   Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of   his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or         affiliated  medical facilities.

5.16   Responsible to perform all Cath. Lab invasive procedures.

5.17 Responsible for reading and reporting all transthoracic and     transesophageal Echo cardiogram in absence of the Non-Invasive           Cardiologist.

5.18   Make ward round everyday on his patients with resident. If consultant is   busy in invasive procedure or in the clinic then resident will start the   morning round, during available time on same day consultant will call   resident to make round and co-sign the resident note and plane of     treatment.

5.19   Consultant is responsible to discuss and co-sign all the consultations       with  resident. All the Echo’s and all the procedures will be done by the     consultant.

5.20   Two clinics per week.

5.21   If Consultant is sick or absent due to unavoidable circumstances then he   should inform to the in charge of the department before time, so that   necessary arrangement can be made to cover his duties.

5.22   Every month one consultant is responsible to conduct the Academic         Activities and Literature Review with residents.

• Can perform Invasive Cardiac Procedures.

Graduate from a recognized medical school. Saudi Board or equivalent higher qualification in General Medicine. Board of Cardiology or equivalent high diploma in addition to proved enough professional experience in invasive Cardiology.
