Duties and Responsibilities
5.1 Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department/division.
5.2 Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for patients for whom he/she is responsible.
5.3 Carries out full range of clinical duties as assigned by the Director/head of Emergency Department/Consultant in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
5.4 Participates in the On-call Duties as required by the department/division.
5.5 Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Total Quality Management Programs, Quality Assessment Improvement Programs) as applicable.
5.6 Instructs and guides when necessary junior medical staff in the overall care of patients, supervises their performance/work and contributes to the training and teaching activities in the department.
5.7 Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education.
5.8 Attends the continuing medical education programs of the department.
5.10 Shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleague.
5.11 To acquire and maintain a valid certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) & Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
5.12 Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.
5.13 Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
5.14 Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
5.15 Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.
5.16 Participate in Health Education activities for patient and their relatives.
5.17 Regularly assess important function include: appropriateness and effectiveness of care, training and education needs, length of stay and appropriate utilization of resources.
Skills
Excellent in verbal and written skills in English verbal/written skills in Arabic-preferred.
Computer skills; Microsoft Office.
Excellent in communication and presentation skills.
Background knowledge on CBAHI, JCI Standards-preferred.
Education
Saudi Board or equivalent higher qualification in Emergency Medicine of at least 4 years training in
