Emergency Department Resident/ طبيب مقيم قسم الطوارئ

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Directs and supervises the clinical management of patients in ED.
2. Responds promptly without any delay to all Code Blue Calls.
3. Recognizes life-threatening situations and the performance of appropriate life saving procedures with the full support of Specialist and Ancillary Facilities at his disposal.
4. Performs a variety of supportive and technical procedures such as advanced life support.
5. Initiates and performs a range of diagnostic measures based on patient needs.
6. Provides a safe therapeutic physical and psycho-social environment for patient care.
7. Establishes therapeutic relationship with patients and family members.
8. Provides clinical guidance, direction and coordination of activities for supportive care within the casualty area and for follow-up.
9. Reports and documents significant information through established oral and written processes.
10. Maintains confidentiality of all Patient / Staff communications.
11. Actively participates in continuous Medical Education and Departmental Research Activities.
12. Coordinates with the ED In-Charge Nurse in all administrative and clinical matters.
13. Assists the Chief of Accident & ED Medicine in the Administration of the ED.
14. Undertakes any other duties of the ED assigned with Chief of the Department.
15. Performs other tasks assigned within the employee’s knowledge, skill and competence.

Skills:

1. Good communication skills with good understanding of Arabic for communication with patients and fluency in English.
2. Basic knowledge of computers and Information Technology as applied to the Medical Sciences.
3. Knowledge of Internet resources of Emergency Medicine and other Medical Specialties and necessary skills of retrieving suitable information from the Internet.
