Duties and Responsibilities
4.1 Nursing director represents the nursing staff as one or the hospital leader’s direction, provision, and quality of nursing service provided to patients.
4.2 Develops the nursing organizational chart as well as the nursing education and quality improvement.
4.3 Participates with the other hospital leaders in the decision making processes, including planning and budgeting.
4.4 Participates in the hospital's multi-disciplinary structures (e.g., committees such as quality improvement. infection control and pharmacy and therapeutics).
4.5 Oversees and assures that committees' recommendations are implemented at the nursing level.
4.6 Assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability for assuring proper and effective nursing services.
4.7 Establishes, oversees, and approves nursing policies and procedures and nursing professional standards of practice and patient care.
4.8 Implements an effective method for organizing the delivery of patient care (e.g primary care).
4.9 Ensures the implementation of a policy and procedure that defines patient care delivery method(s).
4.10 Ensures the competency of the nursing staff.
4.11 Participates in the recruitment and hiring of qualified nurses as outlined in the leadership chapter.
4.12 Monitors the performance of the nursing staff and assures their ongoing competency.
4.13 Develops a staffing plan that maintains an adequate staffing level in all nursing units
4.14 Ensures that nurses assigned out of their normal working area have the competency required for safe and effective patient care.
4.15 Ensures the availability of adequate number of licensed registered nurses to provide nursing care for all patient.
4.16 Member of hospital steering team (Executive management meetings).
4.17 Develop the Nursing Organizational Chart as well as Nursing Education and Quality improvement.
4.18 Develop, implement, evaluate and maintain a strategic plan (Short and Long terms goals) of Organization that defines structures, functions, working relationships and allocation of resources.
4.19 Develops and implements existing policies and guidelines which describe nursing activities that meet MSD rules & regulations and JCI standards and CBAHI standards.
4.20 Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability for assuring proper and effective Nursing Services.
4.21 Facilitates adequate number of staff and skill mix to meet the patient care demands, ensure safe and effective nursing practices.
4.22 Ensure efficient use of all Human Resources as per terms and conditions of the employment such as Overtime, all kinds of Staff Leaves, benefits and salary grading.
4.23 Follow the recruitment Process in reviewing Nursing Candidates Credentials to ensure the recruitment of qualified and experienced Nursing staff.
4.24 Overseas the direction and establishing and maintaining a system for the performance Improvement and bench marking standards of Clinical Practice and ensures Staff performance Evaluation are processed within the time frame.
4.25 Collect, analyze and submit statistical data, prepares comprehensive reports regarding the services and projects in the Nursing Department.
4.26 Monitors the Performance of all Nursing staff and assures their ongoing competency including the nurses assigned out of their normal working area for safe and effective Patient care.
4.27 Direct the developing and approve Job Descriptions that are evidence based.
4.28 Establishes Quality improvement Program to document and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care provided by Nursing Department.
4.29 Responsible for quality of patient care, patient and family satisfaction.
4.30 Develop, implement and monitor Nursing Staff adherence to the relevant Bylaws, Hospital Wide and departmental Policies and Procedures.
4.31 Ensure that Nursing Policies, Procedures and Standards are accessible to all Nursing Staff at all times.
4.32 Other Duties and Responsibilities applied.
