Duties and Responsibilities
Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department.
Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is responsible.
Carries out full range of in-patient and out-patient clinical duties as as per individually approved clinical privileges.
Performing surgeries.
Coordinating with nurses and other professionals in the operation theatre.
Interpreting results of the different diagnostic tests such as results of Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI), CT scans and PET scans to diagnose patients.
Must know techniques of microsurgeries.
Perform invasive surgical techniques such as the removal of brain tumours and other complex neurological procedures.
Work with psychiatrists, therapists and neurologists.
Prescribe treatment for the patient and monitoring their progress.
See out- patients and do elective and emergency operations on and On-Call for emergencies.
Participates in ON-Call duties as required by the department.
Participates in CQIPS System Improvement Activities, CQIPS System Control Activities, CQIPS Staff Development Activities.
Participate in Environmental Safety Awareness i.e. Disaster, CPR, Fire, Infection Control.
Monitors the Key Process Indicators (KPI) related to the unit on a regular basis.
