Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carries out  the   evaluation,   diagnosis   and  treatment of patients and to do investigational and therapeutic procedures whenever required.

• Offer consultation to other units or departments.

•  Takes on-call duty with the Internists.

• Participates in teaching of training of the medical junior staff, medical students, and other staff who need it.

• Undertake and participates in research projects in collaboration with medical and paramedical staff as appropriate.

• Participates in the administration of the department as allocated by Chief of Medicine.

• Involves and   provides   expert   opinion   in  all cases of Infectious Diseases Hospital wide.

• Responsible for Infection Control Program in the Hospital.

• Liasis with Chief of Preventive Medicine and Infection Control Nurses for the improvement of Infection Control Program within the Hospital.

• Participates in the Quality Improvement activities in the department.

Specialized Knowledge:

• Background in Infectious Diseases Medicine (Mandatory)

• Experience in teaching  and  clinical research  (desirable).

•  Computer  Skills (desirable).
