CONSULTANT GENERAL SURGEON / استشاري الجراحة العامة

Duties and Responsibilities:
3.1 Consultant accepts ultimate responsibilities for the care of patients referred to them, medically, professionally, morally and legally.
3.2 A Consultant is involved in the often leading multidisciplinary teams delivering surgical care to the patients. This involves being able to take and overview of the care pathway and policy, and to manage and interact with the other team members functions (junior surgical staff, anesthetist, physiotherapist, etc.)
3.3. Consultant are also expected to be involved in the teaching and guidance and by example and to contribute and leadership.
3.4 Consultants sit on committees and working patients, participate in the research panels to improve various aspects of medical services.
3.5 Admit patients from the Accident and Emergency Department in the corresponding shifts of duty and to choose the best plan of action including transfer to alternative facilities with better equipment and expertise.
3.6 Admit patients from Outpatient Department for an electively planned surgical procedures according to his privileges.

7.1 Self-motivated and with awareness of current trends in the field. 

7. 2 Ability to work in a mutli-cultural environment. 

7.3 Ability to speak, write and read Arabic and English.
