CLINICAL FACILITATOR

•  Ensures through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of nursing care, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center.
• Acts as a role model in providing safe and high quality patient care.
• Assists in the development of relevant materials and manuals required for the provision of Cardiac Nursing Programs.
• Provides instruction of theoretical content education, assigns homework and facilitates simulation / skills lab experience.
• Supervises Saudi graduate and postgraduate students; assists support post-graduate students through each phase of the program.
• Facilitates post-graduate student clinical placements with Head Nurses and Nurse Clinicians.
• Liaises with Head Nurses and Nurse Clinicians to ensure the objectives of clinical placements are met.
• Assists in the maintenance of electronic/written records of attendance at education sessions and on clinical placements.
• Encourages intellectual development and career aspirations of Saudi registered nurse graduates and post-graduate students.
• Evaluates student progress and provides feedback regarding student capability to sustain study requirements.
• Provides feedback for the ongoing planning and revision of Cardiac Nursing Programs.
• Undertakes other duties commensurate with the classification and scope of the position as required.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a co-operative and collegial manner.
• Maintains effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently both orally and in writing.
• Identifies any area of concern in clinical practice and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Acts as a resource to the nursing wards/units.
• Promotes research based clinical practices within nursing.
• Supports opportunities for nurses to participate in research projects.
• Continues with personal and professional development. Maintains a strong knowledge base and keeps up to date with changing requirements in regards to cardiac nursing and management practices and education provision practices.
