Boiler Operator / مشغل غلايات بخارية

• Operates the boiler house in a competent and professional manner with due regard for safety regulations, good boiler house practice and fuel efficiency.
• Carries out water testing according to the instructions of the Director of Operations & Maintenance.

• Carries out minor maintenance work under the direction of an engineer as required.

• Takes telephone calls whilst on evening shift from hospital staff who are reporting faults.

• Ensures that calls reporting faults are passed onto tradesman or engineers as appropriate.

• Completes the boiler logbook on a shift basis as necessary.

• Operates all other plant and equipment on the hospital site.

• Keeps all plant rooms clean and tidy.

• Carries out other duties within skill remit as required by his supervisor or the Director of Operations & Maintenance.

• Certificates for completing a recognized training apprenticeship scheme or government training scheme or equivalent. 

• Additional experience i.e. as a floor layer would be an advantage.

• Must be a fluent in written and spoken English.

• Familiar with the use of modern woodworking machinery and hand tools.
