Job Description
- Performs his/her duties and tasks as per Hospital Policy and Agreement on Professional Code of Conduct.
- Actively participates in all quality and performance improvement activities within the department and the hospital as per the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.
- Actively participates in the education requirement for the department and the hospital as per the Hospital Education Program.
- Performs other applicable tasks and duties within the scope of practice and employment contract.
- Performs PPM work on all switchgear equipment, transformers and associated equipment.
- Performs cable terminations and installations, including all aspects of installations and project work for electrical systems.
- Maintains and troubleshoot D.C and A.C. control systems for motorized switchgear and related protection systems throughout the site.
- Operates 13.8 KV switchgear, as per safety procedures, including phase testing and ear-thing of relevant circuit breakers.
- Carries at megger tests on cables and be able to terminate and install joints where required.
- Carries at occasional low-voltage work on 380 Volt and 220 Volt systems throughout the site
- Replaces all burnt-out lights in High-Voltage switchgear, transformer rooms on the site.
- Replaces all burnt-out lights for all outdoor lighting systems, including any emergency lighting systems.
- Advises Foreman of any material that may be required or problems with equipment or systems
Skills Description
- Knowledgeable of safe switching procedures; isolation grounding of high-voltage switchgear, and troubleshooting of associated control gear.
- Experienced in emergency breakdown situations of high-voltage network systems.
- Licensed High-Voltage Electrician or Master Electrician with Vocational Trade Certificate in High-Voltage Systems, 13,8 KV, or
- Must be able to understand and interpret relevant drawing circuit diagram schematics.
- Must be familiar with high-voltage protection instrumentation.
- Good working knowledge with Microsoft Office.
- Able to work independently and able to manage priorities and tasks.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
