•    To monitor and record pressure measurements and be familiar with the different procedures carried out in the Cardiac Catheterization e.g. Left and Right Heart Catheterisation, PCI, valvuloplasty and device implants, EP Study and Ablation, Pediatric Diagnostic Study and Intervention, Rotablator Rotational Angioplasty, Thrombectomy, Pressure Wire measurement, IABPand lmpella Catheter support.

• To have an \understanding of the following haemodyuamic measurements and wavefonns:        

Central venous pressure

Arterial pressure

PA pressure

Cardiac output

Mixed venous/ Arterial saturations

Mixed venous gas/ arterial blood gas

Shunt calculacions

Valve gradients

4.To be familiar with troubleshoot and manage the following equipment:

Oximeter for measuring 02 sats and calculation.•associated with it.

Cardiac output computer.

Defibrillators

rABP Console

Temporary pulse generators

Pacing system programmers for threshold measurements at device implants

5.Pacemaker  follow-up  and  programming.                      Is  familiar  with  use  of  programmer   for interrogating/programming pacemakers following implant.

6.Electrocardiography - Recording/interpretation of ECGs.

7.Reports all unusual  events or occurrences and equipment  malfunctions immediately to his/her supervisor.

8.Report and refer any untoward/unu.-ual evenWs to the Electro pl.ysiologist.

9.Participate  in  departmental  "on call" rota  as  required  to  maintain  a twenty  four hour emergency service.

10.Required to keep up to date·with available equipment on the market and ensure adequate stock levels of supplies related to job performance.

11.Participates in orientation and in-service education programmes.

12.Ensures that all equipment transferred with patient (IABP, Impella Console, Temporary Pulse Generators, Cables) is returned to the cathlab the following day, discharge of patient or discontinuation of treatment.

13.Protects and upholds the rights of the patients and their families.

14.Participates in quality improvement and patient safety activities and attends quality improvement educational activities as appropriate.

15.Adheres to infection control guidelines.

16.Maintains confidentiality at all times.
