فني علاج تنفسي / RESPIRATORY TECHNICIAN

To liaise with Critical Care areas regarding the number of ventilated patients and equipment needed/change of equipment required.

To draw blood gases as per Physician order.

To clean and sterilize respiratory equipment and provide a stock of standby equipment for critical care areas.

To assist in the transfer of ventilated patients to and from critical care areas for special tests.

To liaise with Head Nurses regarding patients who have artificial airways in situ that may require dressings/change of device.

To carry out Pulmonary Function Tests.

To provide teaching for patients in Oxygen usage for home oxygen therapy.

To provide teaching for patients in the use of Metered Dose inhalants as requested.

Knowledge in computer is very helpful.

Must be willing and able to cope with daily pressure and unforeseen events.

Must be able to meet deadlines for daily duties and assignments.

Must be very tactful, patient and understanding when dealing with patients.

Never get herself in an argument with a patient.

Must develop a team work approach with co-workers and colleagues.
