Duties and Responsibilities
1. Abides by the Medical Staff by Laws, Code of Medical Ethics, rules and regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department/division.
2. Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is responsible.
3. Carries out full range of clinical duties as assigned by the Consultant in Charge of the Intensive Care Unit/Consultant Intensivist in accordance with individually approved Clinical Privileges.
4. Be able to manage critical conditions i.e., control of Airway, knowledge of Hemodynamic monitoring.
5. Be able to work closely with a range of disciplines under stressful circumstances.
6. Participates in the On-Call duties as required by the department/division.
7. Together with the unit staff, he shall run outpatient referral clinics, minor O.R Sessions and any other special clinics as his subspecialty requires or as assigned by the Chief of Department.
8. Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (CQI & PS Programme, Quality Assessment Improvement Programme) as applicable.
9. Fulfils the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties regards to continuing medical education.
10. To participate in the teaching and training Programme of the ICU as assigned and participates with the Consultant in Charge of the ICU and the Consultant Intensivist in planning a Programme of career development for trainees.
11. Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.
12. Deputizes for the Senior Registrar as required and shares workload in his capacity during the absence of his colleagues.
13. To be an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support course (ACLS).
14. Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice regarding to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
15. Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
16. Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities, within the hospital and/or Affiliated Medical Facilities.

Education
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery And Saudi Board or equivalent higher Critical Care.
