Interprets, screens and validates drug orders.
Monitors patients drug therapy and optimization of drug usage.
Implements a therapeutic drug monitoring service throughout the hospital.
Manages selected drug therapies (e. g. aminologlycosides, heparin, aminophyline parenteral nutrition).
Provides pharmacokinetics consultation.
Checks and reports drug allergies and develops drug dosing guidelines for the pharmacy and medical staff.
Supervises and performs all the duties of drug information pharmacist.
To review the drug therapy of patients admitted to the assigned specialty daily and to perform patient care audits.
Attend and conduct drug utilization reviews.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Exhibits knowledge in drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and interaction. Specialized knowledge will be needed in disease states and syndromes, pharmacy therapeutics and interpretation of clinical data.
Knowledge in chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceuticals, therapeutics patient care technique, bio pharmacology, microbiology, quality assurance and medication administration techniques.
Demonstrates ability in communication, instruction and interacting with other health professionals.
In depth drug knowledge with clinical competence.
Knowledge in clinical information and pharmacokinetic services.
Ability to keep up on new drugs and technology.
Demonstrates excellent computer skills.
Member of recognized pharmaceutical society.
