The work performed by the technologist requires professional knowledge and competence in the field of clinical laboratory technology to:

• Perform, advise on, or supervise clinical laboratory testing of human blood, urine, and other body fluids or tissues.

• Interpret and apply complex written instructions.

• Use independent technical judgment to analyze and interpret laboratory results.

• Use manual and automated techniques to confirm test results.

• Develop data that physicians may use to determine the presence and extent of disease.

• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

• Establish and monitor quality control systems and measures

• Teach basic theories, technical skills, and application of laboratory test procedures or equipment.

• Communicate, consult, and interact with other members of the healthcare team, external relations, customer service, and patient education.

• Resolving technical problems and ensuring that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance characteristics.

• Ensuring that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly.

• Provides or ensures provision of orientation for new personnel.

• Actively participates in training new employee staff and in-service Saudi trainees.

• Make orders and receive all critical supplies to appropriate sections.

يتطلب العمل الذي يقوم به أخصائي المختبر معرفة مهنية، وكفاءة في مجال المختبرات الطبية من أجل:

• إجراء أو تقديم المشورة أو الإشراف على الاختبارات المعملية السريرية لدم الإنسان والبول وسوائل أو أنسجة الجسم الأخرى.

• تفسير وتطبيق التعليمات المكتوبة المعقدة.

•  استخدام الحكم الفني المستقل لتحليل وتفسير نتائج المختبر.

• استخدام التقنيات اليدوية والآلية لتأكيد نتائج الاختبارات.

• تطوير البيانات التي قد يستخدمها الأطباء لتحديد وجود ودرجة المرض.

• صيانة واستكشاف الأخطاء، وإصلاحها لأجهزة المختبرات.

•  إنشاء ومراقبة نظم وإجراءات مراقبة الجودة.

• تعليم النظريات الأساسية، والمهارات التقنية، وتطبيق إجراءات أو معدات الاختبار المعملي للمتدربين.

• التواصل والتشاور والتفاعل مع الأعضاء الآخرين في فريق الرعاية الصحية، والعلاقات الخارجية، وخدمة العملاء، وتثقيف المرضى.

• حل المشاكل التقنية وضمان اتخاذ إجراءات علاجية كلما انحرفت نظم الاختبار عن خصائص الأداء المتبعة للمختبر.

• ضمان عدم الإبلاغ عن نتائج اختبار المرضى إلى أن يتم اتخاذ جميع الإجراءات التصحيحية وسير نظام الاختبار بشكل سليم.

• تقديم أو ضمان تقديم التوجيه للموظفين الجدد.

•  المشاركة بفاعلية في تدريب الموظفين الجدد والمتدربين السعوديين أثناء الخدمة.

• تقديم الطلبات وتلقي جميع الإمدادات الحيوية إلى الأقسام المناسبة.

Medical Technologist should have general experience in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood bank, Urine analysis and Immunology.

• Experience in proper specimen collection including preparation, labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, transportation and storage of specimens.

• Experience in implementation of all standard procedures.

• Perform each test method and / or proper instrument use.

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration procedures related to each test performed.

• Knowledge of reagent stability and storage.

• Experience in Implementation of quality control policies and procedures of the laboratory.

• An awareness of the factors that influence test results.

• Know to assess and verify the validity of patient test results through the evaluation of quality control sample value prior to reporting patient test results.

• خبرة في جميع العينات المناسبة بما في ذلك إعداد المريض، ووضع العلامات، والمناولة، والحفاظ أو التثبيت، والتجهيز أوال تحضير، والنقل وتخزين العينات.

• خبرة في تنفيذ جميع الإجراءات القياسية.

• معرفة التقييم والتحقق من صحة نتائج اختبار المريض من خلال تقييم قيمة عينة مراقبة الجودة قبل إبلاغ المريض بنتائج الاختبار.
