job Summary:
Provides quality pharmaceutical service in different shifts in accordance with the hospital/departmental policies, standards of the profession, and the laws and regulations of the King of Saudi Arabia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs his/her duties and tasks as per Hospital Policy and Agreement on Professional Code of Conduct.
Actively participates in all quality and performance improvement activities within the department/service and within the hospital as per Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.
Actively participates in all the education requirement and activities as per the Hospital Education Program.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the scope of practice and employment contract.
Maintains responsibility for all drugs in the pharmacy and/or clinics during the assigned shift.
Ensures that all pharmacies and their drug storage pre-designated areas are  well stocked, equipped, and maintained.
Maintains background for controlled substances.
Evaluates all medication orders to ensure there are no allergic reactions, drug interactions, incompatibilities, or any other errors.
Maintains routine pharmacy operations including stock control, work schedules, dispensing, statistics, drug information and others.
Prepares, checks and dispenses:
Intravenous admixtures  
Unit Dose medications  
Floor stock requests
 Extemporaneous preparations
 Out-patient prescriptions
Supervises and checks all physician orders prepared by technicians.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Participates actively in departmental educational and training activities.
Fulfills the educational requirements as a condition for renewing the contract.
Participates in all implemented protocols and programs such as cost-effectiveness, antimicrobial program, quality assurance...etc.

Performs on-call pharmacy services after pharmacy hours as part of the job duties.

Bachelor of Science degree OR Pharm.D in Pharmacy
