1          Co-ordinates appointments for diagnostic tests in a way that waiting times arekept as

short as possible.

2          Explaining and instructing patient  about the procedure.

3          Preparing the patient by placing electrodes to the patient

4          Knowledge of taking measurements  for the 2-D, M-Mode, Color flow and Doppler parameters.

5          Recognizing 2-D, M-Mode, Color flow, Doppler echocardiographic  abnormalities (e.g. wall motion abnormalities, valve morphology and dysfunction. intracardiac masses and other echocardiographic findings).

6          Assist  in performing Trans-Esophageal  Echocardiography.

7          Performs Dobutamine Stress-Echo, Myocardial Contrast, Stress Echocardiography in the presence of the Cardiologist .

8                          Record  the images obtained  during  the study  and    tore them  in the video  tape an( digitally in the machine. if required

9          Recognize arrhythmias occurring during the procedure and inform the Cardiologist.

10        Inform the non-invasive Cardiologist about the un usual abnormal findings.

11 To ensure safety of the procedure, a bas1c understanding of the equipment used is essential. This is to maintain a professional relationship with the Biomedical Engineering (BME). Preventive maintenance of essential equipment should be arranged.  Equipment should be tested, calibrated if necessary. and cleaned.

12        To ensure accurate and systematic recording of Cardiac data, conform the annuals of the equipment and to inform the Supervisor in case any problem with registration appears.

13        Appropriate filing of data gained from tests.

14        To ensure the return of the echo machines and its probe to the department following

procedure done outside the department.

15        Performing Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

16        Suspension and training of junior  staff members.

17       Advanced knowledge of hemodynamics and cardiac diseases.

18        Maintain proper appearance of the work area.

19        Performs other applicable duties that may be assigned within the realm  of his/her

Knowledge, skills and abilities.
