Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, and those specific to the department.
Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is responsible.
Carries out a full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the Director/Head of department/division per individually approved clinical privileges.
To be available and accessible for referrals and consultations from other disciplines as per his/her interests and special experience.
To initiate and organize prospective trials and studies on currently important topics, with a view to publication.
Teaches staff assigned for training purposes, and participates with the director of department/head of division and Director of Academic Affairs and Training in planning a program of career development for trainees.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities. Takes on-call duty following the department’s schedule and/or as required by the department.
Instructs and guides, when necessary, junior medical staff in the overall care of patients, supervises their performance/work, and contributes to the training and teaching activities in the department.
Fulfills the requirement of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties about continuing medical education.
Works towards completing his pos-graduate training and passing the Final Part of fellowship or Saudi Board.
Attends the Continuing Medical Education Program of the department.
Participates in approved research projects.
Shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleagues.
Acquire and maintain a valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Suport(PALS).
Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as the standard of practice concerning morbidity and cost-effectiveness.
Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
Participates in CQI&PS system improvement activities, system control activities, and staff development activities.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.
Candidate must meet either of the following:
Bachelor's degree in medicine, one year internship, and experience in the specialty (general/main) not less than two years or a one year diploma or an enrollment in a postgraduate training program.
Postgraduate qualification with two years' of training in a specialty of medicine before fulfills the experience required to be classified into registrar rank.
SCFHS Registration and Accreditation.
Valid license from the country of origin.
Excellent communication to both English and Arabic language and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make decisions quickly and tolerate risk.
Flexibility and ability to cope with constantly varying workload.
Ability to manage life-threatening injuries and illnesses.
Self-motivated and with awareness of current trends in the field.
